The Sens are they Bad or Great??

A breakdown of the Senators situation. As Mattbond said on the forum. This team could be anywhere from last to first and on Paper they could do quite well. The glaring issue is Puck movement out of the zone. Yes even more glaring than goaltending!! Goaltending is sufficient with Auld in the net. We just want him to stop the stoppable pucks and he's done that better than Gerber so far.
Offense - Spezza, Heatley, Alfie, Foligno, Vermette, Fisher - The first 4 are producing and if the last two step it up we are GOLD
Defensive D - Phillips, Volchie, Smith - Check check and Check - GOLD IMO. Granted the three of them have struggled but no one could possibly believe that will continue.
Offensive D - Kuba, Picard, Schubert - Kuba is impressing me, Picard needs to step up and Schubert is starting to show his worth back there - So for me it's a matter of either getting another Puck moving D between now and deadline or hoping Picard finds his way or possibly Lee.
Goaltending - Gerber, Auld, Elliot - Gerber's time is now over IMO, Auld is good in spurts but hasn't shown he can do it over the long haul, Elliot has shown promise and could do it. Here we either wait and see or we try to make a splash with a goalie. With the mountain of Cap space we'll have at the Deadline we can do just about anything if Murray's willing to make the move.
Coaching - It's taking time but we all knew it would. Look at what happened in New Jersey with Brent Sutter. This is a good move and the team will be stronger for it.
I know this was a short one but, I thought since things were starting to look gloomy, I'd fire off a blog to show you all that we really aren't that far off from being a good team with the ability to at least make some noise this post season.

I agree, let's hope this is a sign of things to come.
