Hello Again,
I thought I'd write about the forum a bit and give you some insight into the plans. This site was actually inspired by a comment 504Heater made over at HockeyBuzz. The thought of making a forum never even crossed my mind until that point. 504Heater entered the comment section of K Lee's blog about a month ago, or maybe a bit more, and stated quite confidently "...I've successfully brokered a deal with the Panther fans to acquire Jay Bouwmeester..." That's when the lightbulb went off and here we are today. I will just say the vision for this site isn't even close to being realised and you can expect many big things in the future as this site continues to grow in popularity.
What the H E Double Hockey Sticks is a freakin' FIGHTING MONTAGOOSE? Well the truth is no one has ever gotten definitive evidence to prove it's existance however, it has been known to enjoy spending time with both Elvis and Bigfoot on occasion. There have been several reported sightings in places such as How-downs and Hootenanys. Seriously though it's actually a cross between a Tim "Buzz" Kilpatrick mispronounciation (Buzz pronounced Mongoose as Monagoose) and a Futurama reference ( Futurama's Philip Fry "...Fighting Mongooses, that's a cool team name..."). Now as to the question of why is GMCentral Hockey Home to such a creature? As you all know, Hockey teams have mascots and so, a HOCKEY site should also logically have a mascot right? LOL.
As to our site's milestones, I will attempt to keep you updated on this whenever I get a chance to blog. As of this morning we have 32 members and just over 1000 posts. We have 69 Topics LOL, it's true though for an average of almost 4 new topics per day. Our most replied to topic has 131 replies and has been viewed 587 times! The sites top 10 most viewed topics is now over 2000 views!
As many of you know, you can add topics and Polls to this forum site in GM Central and Anouncements and Suggestions as well as Hockey Talkie. The one place topics are restricted is in The Fighting Montagoose. We as a group felt that it was a good idea to have an area where you could go and find strictly Admin content and we hope that you all agree.
Again a big thank you to all members for making this site a hit already.
It's amazing how on Aug 5th, we went from 4 members and a dozen posts to 32 members and over 1000 posts in almost 2 weeks to the DAY!!
